Oscillating Feature
One of the great features of the W1667 Drill
Press is its capability for oscillating sanding. The
drill press can be converted from drilling opera-
tions to sanding operations in just a few steps.
1.
Unplug the drill press and remove the
spindle handles.
2.
Lift the belt cover and remove the round
belt located on the storage bracket under
the speed chart. Figure 21.
3.
Install the belt onto the top groove in the
spindle pulley and the oscillating pulley
located between the motor pulley and the
spindle pulley. The belt will stretch for this
purpose. Figure 22.
4.
Close the cover. The motor will not start
until the cover is closed.
5.
Loosen jam nut for depth stop and adjust
both nuts until they are positioned at the
top of the depth stop rod. Tighten jam nut.
If the depth stop is left adjusted for a shallow
hole, damage will occur to the oscillating
mechanism. Make sure both depth stop nuts
are moved to their uppermost position before
using the oscillating feature.

Unplug machine and
remove handles before
using the oscillating fea-
ture. Handles swing dur-
ing operation.
Never sand or drill with-
out the table for support
and workpiece properly
secured. Serious per-
sonal injury may occur.
